The Corps Anchorage Cadaver Lab is an adjunct course to the Corps Anchorage Full-Arch Course.  Registration for the Cadaver lab is separate and additional to the Corps Anchorage Course.

  • A one-day cadaver workshop laboratory
  • Customarily held the day after the Corps Fundamentals Module 1 class. 
  • Usually held on a Sunday but check the calendar for details.
  • One Cephalus (Head) per Two Surgeon Operators
  • Maximum 24 operator surgeon positions available per course.
  • Observer Positions may be open if space available.  DM or call for details to register observers.
  • 8 CEU’s available PACE certified
  • Approximately 3 hours didactic, and 5 hours of hands-on, cadaver lab.

7:15-8am Registration and breakfast
8-9:45am Didactic Orofacial anatomy for dental implants
10am-Noon Hands-on Typodont Placement
Noon-1pm Lunch
1-5pm Hands-on Cadaver Lab
5pm Social Hour

 

PARTICIPANT LEVELS

  • Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced
  • Surgeon Operators can expect to dissect and place at least 4-8 corps remote anchorage, all-on-4 implants during the laboratory workshop.  Explore pterygoid, zygomatic, trans-sinus, trans-nasal implants and other techniques.
  • Observers may watch and learn the dissection learning and refreshing pertinent orofacial anatomy for dental implant placement.

ENABLING LEARNING OBJECTIVES Cadaver Lab: Advanced Corps Anchorage Level II:

  • Anatomical Familiarity and Landmark Identification:
  • Identify and describe critical anatomical landmarks relevant to dental implant placement and remote anchorage, including maxillary and mandibular bone structures, sinuses, and key nerves.
  • Mastery of Surgical Techniques for Remote Anchorage:
  • Demonstrate proficiency in surgical techniques specific to remote anchorage systems, including the selection and placement of zygomatic or pterygoid implants for full arch restoration.
  • Integration of Full Arch Prosthetic Planning:
  • Apply principles of prosthetic-driven planning to the surgical placement of implants, ensuring optimal positioning and angulation for full arch restorations to achieve esthetic and functional outcomes.
  • Advanced Skills in Managing Complex Cases:
  • Develop the ability to assess and manage complex clinical cases that require remote anchorage solutions, including cases with severe atrophy or bone deficiencies.
  • Post-Operative Care and Complication Management:
  • Learn to implement effective post-operative care protocols and identify and manage potential complications, such as infection, implant mobility, and issues related to remote anchorage sites.
  • These objectives aim to provide comprehensive training that covers the anatomical, surgical, and prosthetic aspects of dental implantology with a focus on remote anchorage for full arch restorations.

REQUIREMENTS FOR REGISTRATION:

  • Only 24 operator surgeon positions are available per course.
  • Register online or call the director.
  • Operators must have a valid dental license in good standing.
  • Observers should contact the Institute Director before registering to ensure space is available.

DEADLINE TO REGISTER

  • Surgeon operators who wish to operate on a cadaver (together with a partner) must register at least 3 months prior to the course.  Space not guaranteed if you do not meet the deadline. 
  • We apologize for the inconvenience, but it takes at least 2 months to ensure the appropriate number of tissue samples will be available. 
  • If you wish to register as a surgeon operator less than 3 months prior, then please call (757-404-9885) to ensure a tissue specimen will be available.

  • Driving from Raleigh is approximately a 3-hour drive.
  • Driving from Washington, D.C. is approximately a 4-hour drive.

  • Operator Surgeons: $3,000
  • Observers: $500
  • Operator Surgeons who successfully completed Corps Fundamentals Module 1: $2,500
